HEARTS HOUSES

HH - DRUID HILLS

HH - WESTERLY HILLS

HH - DERITA (COMING SOON)

Our Hearts Houses program began in March 2021 with the opening of our first Hearts House, “Hearts House-Druid Hills”. This house offered an affordable option for six men, most of whom were taken directly from the tent encampments and all experiencing significant homelessness. We then opened Hearts House-Westerly Hills early summer 2022, housing three men experiencing homelessness.

Our houses are shared living affordable housing options for men experiencing homelessness. We chose this demographic because of the disproportionately high number of men living unsheltered and outside, but we have goals to serve women as well.

During our street outreach work, it became very clear that the major gap for individuals who were unhoused was the lack of housing opportunities for individuals with barriers such as criminal records, physical or mental disabilities, unfavorable credit, and low-income employment.

Shared living is a viable option for persons who may not be able to afford or qualify for traditional housing. In addition to providing an affordable option, we offer mentorship, job placement assistance, financial literacy training, supplemental food assistance and spiritual fellowship and life coaching in our Houses. Our residents are referred from partnering organizations or from our street outreach program.
